Kubb is the greatest yard game ever, and that’s a fact. Kubb is an old viking game that has been played for over 1000 years. It is a game of strategy, skill (and a little luck!) and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The object of the game is to knock over the opponents kubbs and finally the king. It is typically played on a field measuring 8x5 meters (roughly 26x16 feet), however, the field size can be adjusted to accommodate the skill level of the players. Kubb can be played on a variety of surfaces such as grass, sand, concrete, or even snow (depending on how much of a viking you are).
Our Kubb Sets
At Valhalla Games, we use pine wood to make our fine kubb sets. Why pine you ask? Well, at the world championship of Kubb in Sweden, they use pine and so do we. Our sets are designed to the Championship sizing requirements, in case you decide to go pro. We don't use a crown on our sets. Why? you ask again, damn you are full of questions. Well, throughout the years, we have had several kings break a point off the crown and it looks terrible. By not using the crown, our sets are now also more durable and lasts longer.
Growing up in Sweden, we’ve been playing Kubb since we were two turds tall. Moving to Minnesota in the late 90s and introducing kubb to friends started the desire to someday make a business out of it. Many moons later, here we are.
